ASUS has a number of new platforms for the 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable, codenamed “Sapphire Rapids” generation. We saw several of these platforms at SC22 a few months ago, but with the launch of the new platform, these servers are formally released. We have already looked at a number of ASUS servers, and we look forward to reviewing these in the not-too-distant future.
New ASUS 4th Intel Xeon Scalable “Sapphire Rapids” Servers
Here is a quick overview of the company’s new platforms.
- The ASUS RS700-E11 is a general-purpose 1U option for Sapphire Rapids
- The ASUS RS720-E11 is the company’s 2U dual socket server with the ability to handle either general-purpose or accelerated configurations.
- The ASUS RS720Q-E11 is the company’s 2U 4-node (2U4N) density-optimized server with up to four dual-socket nodes.
- The ASUS ESC8000-E11 is the company’s PCIe GPU server. Something interesting about this new version is that the 10x PCIe slots at the rear of the chassis are all direct cabled without a PCIe switch on the daughter board.
- The ASUS ESR1-511-X4TF is a 430mm depth 1U front-access server design for O-RAN and edge deployments.

Expect to see next-gen ASUS server reviews on the STH main site later this quarter. We are still in a transition period where the PCIe Gen4 generation of systems is selling, but our reviews will transition to more PCIe Gen5 systems later this quarter.
